Garret started in the insurance industry directly out of college and has been a strong advocate of the independent agency system for more than 35 years servicing the needs of thousands of clients in multiple states. Prior to joining WDK, Garret owned Jones, Raphael & Oulundsen, Inc. In New Britain and worked has an experienced professional in the business. Clients see they are working with a trusted advisor who makes sure they are properly covered at the time when help is needed the most… after a loss occurs. As an agency principal, he understands the importance of supporting clients and listening to their needs as they grow their business and protect their personal assets.
Garret has served on the national board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) and was President of the Independent Insurance Agents of CT (IIAC). He is the recipient of IIAC’s Agent of the Year award and served on the advisory council of numerous National and Regional Insurance companies.
While the insurance industry has been the center of Garret’s professional career, he is also a dedicated soccer coach helping kids reach their potential and foster a passion for the sport and learn about the importance of being part of a winning team. Garret believes in giving back to the community and runs the Farmington Soccer Club’s Travel and Premier divisions and has served on the board of Directors for CT Junior Soccer Association (CJSA). Additionally, Garret has also served on the board of many non-profit organizations including the CCSU Foundation helping provide scholarships to thousands of college students.
